In support of our national security, and as underscored by emergency declarations being made in communities across the country, the SAME Sacramento Post is joining the effort to contain the spread of COVID-19. We feel it is prudent to be very deliberate in deciding whether to proceed with in-person gatherings for now.

In that spirit, we have made the decision to cancel in person meetings until further notice. The work that SAME members, partners, and stakeholders do is vital to national security, and building relationships and trust through their interactions in the Society is an critical part of how we do it. However, right now the focus needs be on containing the spread of coronavirus in an effort to shorten its duration. Reducing community spread and limiting in-person gatherings are necessary approaches to take.

SAME is dedicated to the health and safety of all its members and event participants, and we thank you for your understanding during these unprecedented circumstances in order to help contain the spread of the coronavirus.

Please note, the Post Programs committee is working to offer virtual meetings. Check back for information on future events.

Welcome to SAME Sacramento!

The Society of American Military Engineers is the only nonprofit professional engineering education organization that actively promotes the advancement of both individual technical knowledge and the collective engineering capabilities of governments, the uniformed services and private industry.

Our goal is to unite public and private sector entities and individuals in the A/E/C fields so that we can prepare for and overcome natural and manmade disasters, acts of terrorism and improve security at home and abroad.

We accomplish this goal locally by supporting monthly luncheon meetings and other professional/social activities attended by members of local government, military, private industry, students and other interested parties. These meetings are announced via our e-mail distribution list and quarterly newsletter.

We are supported by the national Society of American Military Engineers and publications such as The Military Engineer, which also promotes the interests and goals of our society and its members. Please peruse our website to discover the benefits of SAME Sacramento Post membership.
